Instruments, not products
An observatory is defined by its instruments. LedgerWorks builds the systems it needs to read the carbon system — commodity movement, industrial supply, materials provenance, price and trade signal — and those systems become working surfaces in their own right.
They are listed here as what they are: some running, some under construction, some still only an intention. The distinction is stated rather than blurred, because a study that overstates its instruments is measuring its own optimism.
Running
CommerceWatch — commodity and product-graph observation. Tracks the movement of goods across retailers and manufacturers as a trade signal, reading commerce as a physical system rather than a market abstraction. Live at commercewatch.systems.
WallpaperAtlas — a materials and pattern archive. Surface materials indexed across manufacturers and retailers, held as a provenance record rather than a catalogue. Live at wallpaperatlas.com.
Under construction
CarbonWorks — the carbon index and its reporting surface. The measurement work described on the Carbon page, given its own instrument. Domain registered; the surface is not yet published.
ArchivAll — the civilizational materials archive. Long-horizon preservation of technical and industrial record, described on the Archives page. Ingest is running; the public surface is not.
Intention
PriceGraph — price and trade-flow structure as a graph rather than a series. Named here as an intention. Nothing is built, and nothing is claimed.
How to read this page
Three headings, and the boundary between them is the point.
Running means a surface answers today, at the address given. Under construction means real work exists but no public surface does. Intention means the idea is recorded and the work has not begun.
An instrument that is described more precisely than it is built is not an instrument. It is a brochure. This page is maintained on the same standard as the carbon index itself: state the measurement, state its confidence, and do not narrow the gap with language.
